John Curran | Big Bus Tours
Big Bus Tours offers a time- and cost-efficient way to travel between major landmarks and attractions in downtown Chicago. The open-top, double-decker vehicles allow guests to travel to and from 11 locations, including Navy Pier, Museum Campus, Millennium Park, Magnificent Mile and Willis Tower.
The buses depart every 30 minutes, and guests can take unlimited rides in either a 24- or 48-hour period. Along the route, passengers get an opportunity to see Chicago’s famous architecture from above street level as virtual guides provide commentary on the sites in English and Spanish. Big Bus Tours also has an app that provides real-time bus tracking, arrival times, walking directions to stops and a guide of what can be found nearby.
John Curran, senior vice president and general manager of Big Bus Tours’ Chicago operations, has worked in the tourism industry since the early 1990s. He takes a special pride in having a team devoted to making guests feel welcome, particularly those who are stationed at every stop to handle ticket purchases and answer questions.
Big Bus Tours, which operates in 24 other major global cities, is more than simply a fun way for everyone to see a city. The company has had its double-decker buses used by championship-winning sports teams in their victory parades!
